Have questions? We've got answers. Here are some of the most common things people ask about Fileza.
Fileza is designed to process files privately and only use the server when a tool genuinely needs it. Many PDF actions, such as merging, splitting, rotating, signing, watermarking, and image conversions, run in your browser where possible.
Some higher-fidelity tools, especially Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, and other Office-style conversions, use the Fileza conversion service so document layout, page breaks, fonts, tables, slides, and images can be preserved more accurately than a browser-only fallback.
Server-processed files are handled for the requested conversion and are not meant to be kept permanently. Signed-in users may optionally save finished files to history when that feature is enabled; saved files follow the retention settings shown in the account/admin controls.
Browser-first tools are used whenever they can produce reliable results directly on your device. Server-backed tools are used for jobs that need heavier processing, better Office document fidelity, saved-file history, usage credits, billing checks, review submission, account sign-in, or admin-controlled features.
Office documents can contain complex page layouts, spreadsheet print areas, custom fonts, images, shapes, headers, footers, charts, and slide masters. A native conversion engine gives much better results than simple browser rendering. This is why Office-to-PDF tools use the high-fidelity conversion service by default instead of a text-only fallback.
Fileza is tuned for high-fidelity conversion and uses native document export filters for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, Publisher, Visio-style, and related files. In most normal cases, the output should closely preserve the original layout. Exact matching can still depend on the fonts available to the conversion engine, the complexity of the document, and whether the source file uses unusual features or embedded content.
The core tools are available for everyday use. Some account-based features, higher usage limits, saved history, ad-free options, premium tools, credit packs, or future AI-powered document tools may require signing in or upgrading when those features are enabled.
Yes, an internet connection is recommended. Browser-based tools may continue working after the site has loaded, but account features, review submission, usage limits, saved history, billing, admin controls, and high-fidelity Office conversions need the Fileza server or conversion service.
Limits depend on the tool, your device, and your account plan. Guest users may be asked to sign in after a limited number of download/share actions. Server-backed conversions also have practical file-size and processing-time limits to keep the service reliable for everyone.
Failures are uncommon, but they can happen for a few reasons:
Fileza may record limited technical events such as tool name, success/failure status, processing time, browser type, file type, and file size so we can monitor reliability and improve the service. Account, billing, credit, review, and saved-history features store the information needed to provide those features. We avoid storing document contents unless a signed-in saved-file history feature is deliberately used.
